Cookie Notice
Short version: SpecCourt sets no advertising cookies and no analytics cookies. One browser preference keeps the notice from reappearing. Here is the full list.

1. What this site stores
| Name | Type | Purpose | Set by | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|---|
speccourt.cookie.choice | Local storage key (not a cookie) | Remembers whether you clicked "Got it" or "Essential only" so the notice does not reappear. | SpecCourt | Until you clear browser storage |
That is the complete list of first-party storage. No value is sent to our servers, because there are no servers processing reader data beyond static file delivery.
2. What we do not use
- No advertising or retargeting cookies, and no advertising networks on the site.
- No analytics or heat-mapping scripts (no Google Analytics, Plausible, Hotjar or similar).
- No social plugins, embedded posts, or embedded video players that set cookies of their own.
- No cross-site tracking, fingerprinting or device graphs.
- No fonts, scripts or styles loaded from third-party CDNs — they are served from speccourt.com.
3. Strictly necessary security cookies
A content delivery network sits in front of this site. When it detects abusive traffic it may issue a temporary, strictly necessary security cookie to distinguish a real browser from a bot. Such a cookie is not used for advertising or profiling and is exempt from consent requirements in most jurisdictions. It is controlled by the network provider, not by SpecCourt.
4. Cookies you meet after you click a product link
Product links on this site lead to retailer websites (for example Amazon, Best Buy, B&H Photo Video, Walmart or Newegg). Those retailers may set their own cookies — including cookies that record that a visit came from an affiliate link — and they may operate under different rules depending on your region. Those cookies are set by the retailer, not by us, and are governed by that retailer's cookie and privacy policies. We never receive your identity or your order details; at most we see aggregate commission reports.
5. Managing or clearing what we store
You can remove the preference at any time:
- Chrome / Edge: Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies → See all site data, search for speccourt.com, then delete.
- Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data, search for speccourt.com, then remove.
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Manage Data, search for speccourt.com, then remove.
Clearing the value simply means the cookie notice appears again on your next visit. Nothing else on the site changes, and no feature stops working.
6. Your choices
Because there is no advertising or analytics technology here, both options in the notice lead to a fully working site. "Got it" and "Essential only" store the same single preference; the difference is only that "Essential only" records that you did not consent to anything optional — and there is nothing optional to consent to.
